Jaclyn Hill Volume 2

I finally got mine in the mail! I have some big updates going on right now behind the scenes and I will be posting soon with all the details so keep an eye out for that! Anyway, this week I got to test out Jaclyn Hill's new palette. This is the second release of her partnership with Morphe. The first was a major point of drama in the beauty community given that it got mixed reviews from some big name influencers. I wasn't sure if I was going to buy it at first, but once I saw the hot pink, orange, magenta, and gold color scheme I was totally sold!

The matte shades are definitely the standouts here. They are so vivid and they apply very light at first, which I think is great for these kinds of more vibrant shades, but builds very smoothly and evenly. You will never look like you over did it with these. The metallics are in nice shades that compliment the mattes but formula-wise I would say they are nothing special. The glitter shades did disappoint me. They were hardly visible on my skin. Here is some swatches for reference-

That being said, it is totally worth getting the whole palette just for the mattes. I already started sketching out some faces I want to try with these colors -

I was thinking a gold metallic lip with something hot pink along the edges. I'll try to get a face done using it soon but like I said, my life is getting a little bit crazy right now so I'm not sure when it will be. Someone suggested I try making a rating system for when I test products and I thought that would be really cool so I'm going to do a 4 star kind of system but with lipstick instead of stars, like this ~

As a little sneak peek into my hectic life right now, I wanted to share that I am now on a low sodium and low sugar diet. As someone who was not well versed in the art of dieting, I immediately thought "then what the fuck am I supposed to eat?" But over the last couple of weeks I've discovered new ways to eat and new foods that actually do taste good, despite what you would think. I mention all this because I want to start posting my smoothie recipes in the hope that maybe we can all start to feel a little inspired to eat less sugar and salt. I am still working on how I want to make that into interesting content for my blog, I'm working on it, but in the meantime I wanted to share my newfound healthy eating wisdom. I'll catch up with you guys soon, thanks for reading🥰🥰
